IXON Enters Strategic Incubation Program Backed by Shanghai Bright Food and Sunwah Group

IXON today officially entered the first cohort of incubated projects under the Hong Kong International Food Technology Innovation Development Co., Ltd., a specialized platform jointly established by Shanghai Bright Food Group and Sunwah Group. The signing ceremony for the first batch of projects took place on Thursday 25 June in Hong Kong.

The incubation platform is designed to bridge technology transfer, industrial services, and commercialization between Hong Kong, Shanghai, and international markets. Out of nearly 50 global technologies evaluated over the past eight months, IXON’s Advanced Sous-vide Aseptic Packaging (ASAP) was selected as one of six initial flagship projects.

During the project showcase, Dr. Felix Cheung, Founder and CEO of IXON, presented the operational mechanics and commercial applications of ASAP technology. The system utilizes a precise combination of sous-vide, rapid sterilization, and aseptic packaging to enable the storage of fresh meat, seafood, and vegetables at room temperature for up to two years, without compromising texture, flavor, or nutritional value.

"Our technology removes the reliance on traditional cold-chain logistics," Dr. Cheung noted during his presentation. "Beyond standard proteins like beef and chicken, we have successfully applied this to high-value ingredients. For instance, we are the first to achieve room-temperature preservation of fresh black truffles, as well as Chinese orchid roots (Gastrodia elata), which are highly valued in the elderly care and health sectors."

The entry into the Bright Food incubation program aligns with IXON’s current global scaling efforts. The company is currently building a state-of-the-art aseptic packaging facility at the Pilot Manufacturing Centre (PMC) of Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA), focusing on the commercialisation of shelf-stable functional food, vegan food as well as fresh pet food.

Speaking on the selected projects, Mr. Min Zhidong, Director of Investment at Shanghai Bright Food Hong Kong, highlighted IXON's potential: "This is an outstanding project highly recommended by the CMA. We have already begun assisting with its further commercialization and factory establishment. Moving forward, we aim to leverage our platform's targeted funding to support the project's capital development and facilitate its expansion across various application sectors."

Looking ahead, with the support of the new incubation platform and industry partners like CMA, IXON is preparing for international expansion. The company plans to establish its first US-based production line in San Francisco by November 2026.
