IXON Crowned Champion at the Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS)-Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) Global Pitch Competition Hong Kong Finals
IXON has officially won the Open Group Championship at the Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS)-Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) Global Pitch Competition Hong Kong Regional Final. The highly anticipated deep-tech showdown took place on September 22 at One North, Yuen Long. This victory secures IXON’s position to represent Hong Kong at the Global Finals in Shenzhen this December.
The company secured the top prize with its advanced sous-vide aseptic packaging (ASAP) technology. The system utilizes flash surface sterilization and aseptic packaging to enable ambient, shelf-stable storage of meats, seafood, and ready-to-eat meals for up to two years. This breakthrough eliminates the need for cold-chain logistics, effectively halving carbon emissions while preserving food texture and flavor far better than traditional canning.
Felix Cheung, Founder and CEO of IXON, reflected on the company's arduous 13-year journey to this milestone. He noted that IXON faced critical survival challenges around its eighth year when traditional meat suppliers struggled to grasp the technology's commercial potential. By strategically pivoting to human-grade pet foods and ready-to-eat meals, the company successfully turned the tide and secured partnerships with industry leaders.
"It is incredibly thrilling to win this championship on home turf after building this homegrown technology from zero," Cheung stated following the win. The company is now actively preparing to expand its operational footprint. Plans are underway to establish strategic processing centers in Hong Kong, Hengqin, Kunming, and San Francisco.
Jointly founded by the two prestigious business schools, this global competition has attracted over 2,300 innovative projects worldwide since 2020. Advancing teams have historically secured over 1 billion RMB in post-competition funding. IXON will now leverage this international platform to drive the global transition toward secure, cold-chain-free food supply networks.
